Consulmet has signed terms with Eagle Lithium to design, build, and operate a #lithium spodumene concentrator in #Nigeria. The facility will be located in Nigeria’s mineral-rich Southwest and will be designed to process 720,000 tonnes of lithium spodumene ore per year. This strategic partnership will leverage Consulmet’s expertise in Dense Media Separation (DMS) with Eagle Lithium’s extensive knowledge of the Nigerian market to create a state-of-the-art facility that will produce high-quality lithium concentrates for the global market. “We are excited to partner with #EagleLithium to bring this important project to fruition”, says Consulmet director David Fuller. “Lithium is a critical component in #battery production, and this facility will help meet the growing demand from battery manufacturers.” The project is expected to create numerous job opportunities for the local community and generate significant economic benefits for Nigeria. “Bringing added value to the minerals sector through processing in-country with a world-class technical partner like Consulmet further strengthens our exciting plans in Nigeria”, says Petur Georgesson, chairman of Eagle Lithium. Consulmet and Eagle Lithium are committed to operating in a socially responsible and sustainable manner and will work closely with local stakeholders to ensure that the project benefits the local community. Consulmet looks forward to working with Eagle Lithium to advance this important project and bring it into production during 2024.
