Mineral Sands Plants

Consulmet offers a range of modular plants for the beneficiation and recovery of mineral sands. These plants are based on our standard spiral concentrator and WHIMS (Wet High-Intensity Magnetic Separation) modules. Our plants for the recovery of mineral sands are custom built according to the requirements of our clients.

Depending on the feed source, each plant comprises of:

  • Dredger unit with primary, scavenger and cleaner spirals, plus dewatering cyclone
  • Wet magnetic separator to remove all magnetite in the spiral concentrate
  • Vibrating screen and attritioner at the HMC plant
  • Dryer
  • Rare Earth Magnetic Drum Separator (REMDS)
  • Shaking table

 

Consulmet has conducted extensive test work in order to recover Rutile and Zircon as saleable products.
